Hello there. I’m Justin Brown. I like to create things using words and pictures.
My writing work has included being a contributing editor for Primer Magazine and serving as both a contributing writer and social media manager for Bundle. While at Bundle, I put together many image-based article slideshows including “The Cost of One Man’s Star Wars Obsession”, which was featured on the front page of MSN.com and generated nearly 2 million pageviews. Some of my articles were syndicated by sites like Business Insider and Ragan. I was asked to appear on radio shows like Mancow in the Morning and The Todd Veinotte Show to discuss some of my articles.
In 2011, I collected some of my early articles and essays and published them into a book called “Your First Fifty Articles Are Your Worst”.
In addition to writing, I also create a lot of visual art. I predominantly work with acrylics and I frequently feature paintings in The Artists Gallery in Virginia Beach, VA. Those efforts and more are for sale through my Etsy shop. In 2004, two pieces of mine were chosen for The Virginian-Pilot’s Student Gallery and hung at the Chrysler Museum of Art.
I am also a big fan of digital painting, design, and photography. Some of my digital work has been featured on Yahoo, io9, Cracked and several of my graphics have been used on Bundle. I’ve also had a few photographs on display at the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art.
I currently reside in Virginia and do my best to stoke the fires of my passion for all of the above. Please feel free to get in touch with me at any time, through my email address.
